View:
Frog & Toad Life-Cycle! Tiny Eggs to Leaping Legends! Stage 1 - Eggs (Spawn): Starts in the water! Mothers lay thousands of jelly eggs. Frog: Big, messy clumps. Toad: Long, neat strings. Fun Fact: The jelly is a cosy blanket keeping babies safe! Stage 2 - Tadpole: Pop! Tadpoles hatch. They live underwater with long tails and gills, just like fish! Fun Fact: Super hungry! They munch on pond plants to grow big. Stage 3 - Froglet & Toadlet: Time to change! Back legs grow, then front legs. Tails shrink and lungs grow to breathe air. Fun Fact: No food needed! They absorb their shrinking tails for energy. Stage 4 - Adult: Tail gone! Ready for land. Catching bugs with long, sticky tongues! Fun Fact: Super jumpers! Frogs leap 20 times their body length! Spot the difference! Frog: Smooth, wet skin. Long jumping legs. Lives near water. Toad: Bumpy, dry skin. Short walking legs. Lives in gardens and dry places. Explorer's Challenge - Spring is the best time to look! Check a local pond. What stage will you find today?
