What's on Eco Explorers

Here's a friendly map of everything you'll find, grouped into three parts: exploring nature, learning and the curriculum, and activities and resources. Pick whatever catches your eye.

Explore Nature

Creatures — a directory of animals, each with its own data card showing size, diet, speed and more, plus links into the food web. Browse by name or picture, then open a creature to see how it lives and what it eats.

Plants — trees, flowers and other plants, each with its own plant data card showing things like height, spread and flowering season. A good place to start when you want to know what's growing around you.

Food Web — an interactive explorer showing how energy flows between living things. Click any creature to follow the web and discover who eats whom.

Habitats — the different homes where plants and animals live, from a local wood to the deep sea. Search and filter to compare them and see which creatures belong where.

Nature Calendar — what to look for in nature month by month: what's flowering, what's fruiting, which birds are arriving, and who's settling down to hibernate. Check in each month to see what's happening right now.

Curriculum & Learning

Science Curriculum — nature examples mapped to the England primary science curriculum, Years 1 to 6. A quick way to find a living example for a particular topic.

Geography Curriculum — the physical world, climate and environments, mapped to the geography curriculum.

Natural History — foundational skills and ideas for the upcoming Natural History GCSE, for anyone who wants to go a little deeper.

Biomimicry — how nature solved a problem first, and the human inventions it inspired. Full of surprising links between wildlife and everyday technology.

Activities & Resources

Games — interactive drag-and-drop and printable games, including the new Map Reading games for grid references, compass directions, map symbols, routes and distance. Play on screen or print them out.

Handouts — printable comparison cards, life-cycle sheets, posters and fieldwork templates, ready to download and use.

Places to Visit — nature reserves, parks and wild places to explore, shown on an interactive map. Filter to find somewhere near you.
