Example line walk observations
This list is to give you an idea of what to look out for. But nature is full of surprises! It is very important to pay close attention to what you find in the real world and make your own observations, even if you see something that is not on this list or that you weren't expecting to find.
- Short grass: Mown lawn or heavily trampled paths.
- Tall grass: Longer, un-mown grass with seed heads.
- Brambles (Blackberry bushes): Prickly vines with leaves or berries.
- Leaf litter: Dead, brown leaves covering the ground.
- Muddy path: Bare earth where people or animals have walked.
- Ferns: Large, feathery green leaves growing in shady areas.
